HDR photography

when i finish school, i really want to experiment with cameras. TS just sent me a link to this site about :: HDR :: and the pictures look like they have been photoshopped to high heaven. but apparently, no, it's just the beauty of a sweet camera, triple exposure and some skills. i need to get me some of those. skills that is. and a sweet camera.

wow those photos look really freaky, but at the end of the day it seems to be a more an effect than it is useful for seeing more detail in a photograph.

unfortunately it's not for capturing real stuff, but HDR rendering is a pretty damn special - being able to look into a really dark corner and after your eyes adjust be able to see the detail that was once a pit of blackness. obviously only really useful in videogames at the moment :P
